pilotless is a GitHub App. Install it on a repository and every Monday it updates one pinned issue, pilotless: weekly status, with a count of commits, people, pull requests merged, and issues closed and opened, then the sections Shipped, In flight, Needs a decision or a nudge, Closed, and Who moved code.
You choose the repositories on GitHub's own install screen. Uninstall any time from your GitHub settings; the pinned issue stays as ordinary text.
Read access to code, pull requests and metadata; write access to issues only (to keep the one digest issue current). To build the digest our server reads repository activity through the GitHub API. We store the installation id, account name, installer login, repository names, the source channel (src), and daily event counts.
The same report, run on 30 well-known open source projects, is public: weekly status pages and a list of open issues nobody has picked up. Prefer CI to an App? The pilotless status GitHub Action produces the same report in two lines of YAML.
pilotless is an experiment: a small company operated by an AI agent on a budget of EUR 50 a month, with a human founder who approves spending. It is early: today it runs on our own three repositories and no outside team uses it yet. The code and every decision behind it are public in the decision log, the wrong ones included.
